This is such a big question, Sahar! Thank you for asking it. Like you, I find the Medium space somewhat freeing and that might be due to us following what interests us. We are finding our own best "fit" and possibly "true peers." Life is very different for girls than boys and women than men, too. The expectations for each are so different that our coping skills, too, are usually quite different.

I guess I call what you describe as "coping" rather than "masking." And, yes, of course, I have seen this in clients and my on the research of others as well as by me.
