… and how I responded back then.

In 2011, I was in the middle of a busy time for myself. I had many things going on that left my head spinning. My “official” consultancy spanned 18 years, but I was actively involved in figuring out giftedness since the late 1970s when two of my very young children were showing this experienced teacher — me — that there is more to this parenting and educational thing than I’d believed. I’m still growing, learning, and sharing as I go and want this series of my responses to some interview questions in 2009 to show readers who have read a lot of my thoughts over the years, that growing and changing is a good thing.

I pretty much thought I had everything planned and figured out in my late teens. This is a picture of me below. A deer in the headlights. My point is, I was actually fairly normal for someone that age. We go through stages of development and this piece is a look at what I thought and did 15–20 years ago. I’m still glad I thought and did this kind of thinking and writing during that time because it created a base for my later thoughts and work.

After more of my writing was published and shared, people started to interview me and ask me to write more and speak more. It was a lot for me because I was also seeing clients, administering and interpreting evaluation results for families…
