Part I: The Gifted Subjects — In Their Own Words About Religion and Politics

Here I present some anecdotes from the gifted subjects from my 2023 longitudinal study of The 5 Levels of Gifted Children Grown Up, people who responded to the religion and politics questions. Generally, people who read about topics like this one are looking for solutions, answers, and recommendations. Although “what these now-grown gifted children are like” may be interesting enough, what is of most interest and import is what any of it might mean. Therefore, as the anecdotes and words of the subjects unfold, so will my interpretations of what it might mean, whether it is normal, healthy, or problematic, and what, if anything, we can do to make it better for individuals at any point in their lives. Inner growth shows up in different ways, times, and places for people, so some interpretations will occur in this post, some in other posts, and much of in my books.

In this series of posts I list the subjects within their original Levels groups by Unsatisfactory to Excellent “fit” during their school years. I mention school fit to help us see if there seems to be a relationship to the subjects’ current ways of viewing their religious/spiritual lives and politics. When I report they experienced an “Unsatisfactory to Excellent school fit,” it means it started poorly and eventually was better by high school or sooner. I…
